Over the years I've collected chairs from estate auctions and antique stores in and around central Virginia. Each chair had good points and not so good points. One chair would have a comfortable seat but an uncomfortable back splat. Some had a nice back curve and others didn't but the overall simplicity of the chair was what I liked about all of them, so I decided to make a chair that I like to think encompasses all of the nice features of these vernacular chairs of Virginia. It's darned comfortable and my wife will only sit in this one at the table.
