This kitchen was designed for a renovated log cabin. The customer
was interested in combining elements that reflect both the "country"
and "contemporary" sides. For the country side we chose
to bring in the natural color of Sassafras wood. The stand alone
hutch is designed to accommodate the height of counter appliances
below glass display doors, with drawer space for linens, and other
items behind the board & batten doors below. The Island is also
constructed of Sassafras with a 2" thick bamboo parquet butcher
block top, open shelving below, and soapstone eating surface. The
painted portion of the kitchen has inset doors with flat panels
in an Arts & Crafts/Shaker style. The Farm style soapstone sink
cabinet has perforated metal door panels below. The kitchen also
features a pull-out trash drawer, tongue & groove cabinet side
paneling, and Sassafras window trim.
Sassafras, painted maple, bamboo, soapstone surface and backsplash,
brushed nickel & oil-rubbed bronze hardware.
